TAKE-IN REPAIR ENVELOPES

Repair EnvelopesJewelry repair services are a growing sales category for retail jewelers, but they leave jewelers exposed to customer complaints and/or dissatisfaction. To protect your store when undertaking repair projects, Jewelers of America has partnered with Impact Specialties to develop special take-in envelopes that feature JA-approved disclaimers. The disclaimer helps prevent miscommunication between you and your customers.

  • Form Envelope model # JA-RE7
  • The repair envelope includes the JA logo, identifying your store as a reputable member of Jewelers of America
  • Consumers must read a JA-approved disclaimer (see box below), and sign the envelope to acknowledge they understand it, before handing over their gemstones or jewelry for repair.   
  • These take-in repair envelopes can only be used by JA members in good standing.

The disclaimer, as printed on the envelope:
“The description and value of the article listed above are mine alone. I understand this store is not responsible for identification of the stones or jewelry listed above. Any gemstone in the submitted article may have been subjected to an enhancement process. I understand that the store is not responsible for damage that is beyond the store's control or attributable to unstable enhancement processes. I further understand this store is not responsible for loss, damage, and/or theft of my jewelry unless proven it was due to the store's negligence. I further understand damage and/or loss strictly due to such negligence is limited to the actual cost of repair or replacement, not to exceed the value I listed above, and when no value is listed, it is agreed that the value is no grater than $75.00. I have read and understand this disclaimer of liability, its purpose being to induce this store to repair my jewelry, and I agree to be bound be all of its terms and conditions.
